S. Armstrong, Project Manager, Armstrong Planning and Project Management, agent for the proponent, spoke in favour of the application.
Committee asked questions and received answers from S. Armstrong regarding the following:
- Timelines for starting construction;
- Whether there had been recent input from the Missisaugas of the Credit First Nations;
- Price points for the cottage units;
- Whether another open house should have been held due to the increase in planned units; and
- The status of old natural gas wells on the property.
P. Snyder, resident, asked questions and received answers from staff regarding the zoning of the property, and why the name on the application had changed .
M. Liscombe, resident, asked questions and received answers from staff regarding the following:
- The availability of documentation proving appropriate remediation of the natural gas wells on the property;
- Whether there was information regarding the types of freight that would be carried on the railway;
- The capacity of the local water/wastewater infrastructure; and
- Concerns regarding the contact direction provided on the planning notice.
Council asked questions and received answers regarding the following:
- Timing on Haldimand County assuming ownership of the storm water management pond;
- How the water is directed towards the storm water ponds;
- The effect of the development on billing for and run-off to the Harrop drain;
- Details on the pump system in the quarry to prevent algal growth; and
- Whether the proposed development is included in the Haldimand County Official Plan.
There being no one else present to speak either for or against this application, deliberations concluded with the introduction of the following recommendation.
